The winters approach steadily and besides the rain, snow and cold weather, nature also brings other things to offer us - winter fruits. It is often said by experts and dieticians that we should eat and enjoy the season's fruit that the current season has to offer. Here, let's talk about the fruits that this season has to offer us and also what good it will bring to our bodies for consuming it.

Apples

The apple is rich in nutrients and the antioxidants it possess help prevent many diseases and keep you healthy. Besides the antioxidants, the apple contains fiber, Vitamin C, B complex vitamins, and some amounts of minerals. These, together, help prevent many diseases and illness. They protect your heart and make it stronger and also provide cushion to your joints. Also, just like many fruits are known to, it prevents constipation and also stops diarrhea.

Oranges

Oranges are one of the most popular winter fruits. Not only do they taste great but they smell great too - and are hence used in many desserts too. This citrus is richest in Vitamin C and that is no secret. It also contains dietary fibers, a range of phytochemicals, Vitamin A, B complex vitamins and minerals. Because the orange is so rich in all these nutrients it makes your immune system more resistant to disease and makes it stronger. Orange is also known to help in the fight against cancer as well as protecting your heart. It also helps with your respiratory system. Orange juice is a popular drink and juicing out your oranges can be another option besides eating the fruit raw. Juicing oranges is also a quick process.

Grapefruit

This member of the citrus family, like the orange, is rich in dietary fiber and Vitamin C. It is an excellent source of Vitamin A as well as certain antioxidants. Minerals such as calcium and iron are also present in the grapefruit. This citrus is famous for being the fruit that helps you cut your weight - and this fact is true. Also, like the orange, it helps prevents cancer. Besides that it also helps prevent arthritis- which could be a concern during old age. The grapefruit can help reduce your cholesterol levels and is also useful for curing simple illness like a cold. Juicing the grape fruit through a juicer is an alternative to eating the fruit raw, as with, oranges. Grapefruit and orange juice can be mixed together to create a sweeter taste.

Kiwis

Kiwis are loaded with Vitamins A and E and it is also rich in Vitamin C. They also possess as much potassium as bananas. Kiwi seeds can be crushed to produce fruit oil. Thanks to the dietary fibers it contains, it can help in preventing cancer and can also reduce asthma problems. Other illnesses that the kiwi has been linked to providing a cure for are chronic cough, runny nose and shortness of breath.
